Lake Manyara National Park

 

Ernest Hemingway called it once: ‘The loveliest I had seen in Africa’. The Lake Manyara Nationalpark is another impressive national park in the north of Tanzania and is ideal for a stop-over on the way to the Serengeti. The size of the park (330km²) is covered by two-thirds (220 km²) by the lake Manyara, a fresh water lake. The park is well known for its hundreds of flamingos and the tree climbing lions.

 

Best travel period:

 

All over the year – during rain season (April-May / November – December) some parts of the park are not accessible

 

Wildlife:

 

Zebras, Giraffes, Wildebeests, baboons,

 

Lions, leopards,

 

Buffalos, Hippos, Elephants

 

Over 400 bird species among these the flamingo
